. . . about Divorce?

It is unlawful to remarry in the State of Oklahoma for six (6) months following a divorce except to one's former spouse. Remarriage prior to this time is considered adultery under Oklahoma law.

Quick Facts- Modification

What should you know?

You should know that the judge can modify parts of your court order. In Oklahoma, the judge can modify:

  1. Child Custody
  2. Visitation
  3. Child Support
  4. Spousal Support (Alimony)

You should know that the court cannot modify division of property.

You should know that you and your ex-spouse cannot officially change the court's order without returning to court.

You should know that under the right conditions that child support can be changed when your or your spouse's income changes.

You should know that the court may lose the power to change its order if you and your ex-spouse leave the state.

You should know that we can often determine during your initial consultation whether you meet the legal requirements to modify the court's order.
